I was born in Stellarton, Pictou County, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1944. My parents, Emile Camille and Olive Mascaux were immigrants from Belgium. In 1971, I married Pauline Marion King from Jeannette's Creek, Ontario.

I spent over twenty years as a senior high school English Language Arts teacher, eight years as a curriculum supervisor and one year as a Grade Five classroom teacher.
